City of Alameda New Parking Structure and Historic Theater Rehabilitation

This work was a cornerstone in the development of the Park Street Business District in downtown Alameda and involved two distinct but simultaneous projects adjacent to one another: a new six-level parking structure, and the rehabilitation/seismic retrofit of a historic theater dating back to the 1930’s. The parking structure was designed to provide space for approximately 350 vehicles on seven levels. The historic theater was restored to its original use as a 484-seat movie theater. Both the parking structure and theater projects were constructed in a busy business district with a public high school adjacent to the projects.
