
Indianapolis Public Transportation – IndyGo Purple and Blue Lines
Project Description:
IndyGo Purple Line Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Phase 1: A $188 million, 15.2-mile new BRT alignment with 28 station stops (18 Purple Line stations; 13 shared Red Line stations), operating an all-electric articulated BRT extending from Lawrence to Indianapolis.
IndyGo Blue Line Bus Rapid Transit: An estimated $379 million, 24.5-mile new BRT alignment with 33 station stops, and procurement of an all-electric or hybrid electric articulated BRT. The Blue Line and will be the third bus rapid transit (BRT) line in Indianapolis and the state of Indiana. The 24.5- mile corridor will operate between the Indianapolis International Airport (Airport) on the west and the Town of Cumberland on the east, through downtown Indianapolis, utilizing Washington Street, Holt Road, and Interstate 70 (I-70).
Services Provided: The PMOP JV has oversight responsibilities and represents the FTA in that capacity, including:
- Ensuring the project follows the grant agreement terms and conditions
- Conducting quarterly meetings
- Communicating with the project team to gain insight into the current project status and reporting findings
- Developing Implementation Plans and fulfilling Operating Procedure (OP) requirements
