The $94.6 million Terminal 2 (T2) ATCT and Building Modifications project consisted of:

Enabling work, including activation of the new Air Traffic Control Tower T2 Aircraft Parking Enhancement (15th Gate), which added a 15th Gate to Level 2 of Terminal 2 Demolition of the old, seismically deficient T2 ATCT and Office Tower floors reconstruction of T2 Level 3 and Level 4 for leasable and functional space

Services Provided: TAG served as the prime project management/construction management consultant responsible for project delivery and as the owner’s representative. TAG helped SFO maintain consistent Airport operations during the seismic upgrades of Levels 1 & 2 and construction of new Levels 3 & 4. A tower crane was used in proximity to airplanes, requiring vigilant coordination between SFO and the General Contractor.

TAG worked with the General Contractor to ensure security and safety were maintained as the scope modified the pre-/post-security occupied spaces. The PM/CM team exceeded client expectations through stakeholder engagement by ensuring their acceptance criteria were clearly incorporated in the design. TAG inspected the work to create the final punchlist and oversee satisfactory completion in a timely manner. The project was implemented under a Progressive Design-Build (PDB) contract, with a progressive Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP), which required careful management of project costs and schedule.
