The center also offers affordable day care services and a secure playground for children.

The center features art throughout the building’s interior, the adjacent Pavilion named for community leader Alex Pitcher, and an outdoor sculpture. The updated landscape incorporates native plants and a bioretention pond to prevent flooding, as well as log benches, swing benches, and a slide.

Services Provided: As part of a joint venture with Hollins Consulting Inc, The Allen Group provided a full range of construction management services, such as: Constructability review of design documents; project controls, including cost estimating and reviews of baseline schedule; overseeing and processing requests for information (RFIs) and submittals; document control; drafting meeting minutes; performing daily inspections and inspection reports; coordinating with SFPUC stakeholders; reviewing onsite issues with the design team; processing change orders and progress payments; providing monthly progress reports to SFPUC; developing community relationships; exceeding local hire percentage goal; and creating enduring relationships with the San Francisco Department of Public Works (SFDPW), SFPUC and Pankow Builders.
