Overview:
The Allen Group is looking for a Project Controls Analyst to support overall financial reporting and forecasting, change management, scheduling, document control and project administration for contract modifications. Project Controls Analysts work extensively with senior and project management staff, consultants, and contractors. This position requires work to be done in person and onsite.
Requirements:
  • A 4-year degree (BA/BS) in engineering or equivalent experience
  • 1 - 3 years working with financial reporting, forecasting, change management, scheduling, document control, and project administration in a construction setting.

  • Understands progress/performance data and associated concepts and principles

  • Recognizes processes/project actions that may lead to project financial impact
  • Collects data and produces an initial analysis of manpower, labor hours, and labor cost requirements versus budget limitations

Overview:
The Allen Group is looking for an enthusiastic team player to join one of its construction management (CM) teams as an Office Engineer (OE) to help ensure day-to-day CM contract administration and related activities are well organized and coordinated, and meet project and client commitments. This position requires work to be done in person and onsite.
The position will be filled at a client’s office or construction site field office in the San Francisco Bay Area, CA. The work environment may be noisy and dusty or otherwise less comfortable than other office environments. The applicant must be physically able to move and lift objects weighing up to 20 pounds and be willing to work in a construction environment, climb ladders, enter confined spaces, etc.
The applicant may be required to sit for long periods of time using a keyboard and video display terminal. The applicant should be able to quickly adapt behavior and work methods in response to new information and priorities; effectively interact in a cooperative manner with many levels of people; and maintain focus and be productive under pressure.
Requirements:
  • BS in Civil Engineering or Construction Management, or BA in Architecture required (or equivalent experience).
  • Must be proficient with MS Office, Word, and Excel.
  • Ability to work effectively as a part of a multidisciplinary team, in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Primary Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):

Desired Certifications:

Requirements:
  • At least five years work experience in relevant field construction inspection, transit system construction or transportation project management
  • Thorough knowledge of inspection standards, procedures, and applicable building and safety codes
  • Ability to develop in-depth understanding of construction plans and specifications and means, methods and design standards used in building projects and compare them with aspects of ongoing construction
